Explore open FDE engineer jobs in India posted in the last 30 days, across AI delivery, software engineering and customer integrations. The vacancies below were checked against employer careers pages and public job boards on 28 October 2026. Compare experience requirements, posting dates, work arrangements and disclosed salaries before choosing the roles that fit your background.

Searching only for “FDE jobs in India” can hide important differences. A Hyderabad migration role, a remote AI consultancy role and an office-based deployment-support role can all use the title. The right application depends on which responsibilities fit your experience and which work you want to grow into.

This guide provides a dated set of employer examples and a practical application plan. It is not a complete census of vacancies or a prediction of hiring outcomes. The examples were checked against the employers’ public job-board feeds. For the general application process, read the FDE jobs guide; for local compensation, see FDE salary in India.

What do these examples tell you about the work?

Data and AI delivery needs careful validation

Databricks’ senior FDE role involves building production data and AI applications. A relevant project can show reliable pipelines, deployment checks, monitoring and a runbook. Explain how you validate the data and recover when a component fails.

Operations experience can be relevant

GlobalLogic’s cloud AI role includes production deployment, performance and distributed systems. A candidate from SRE, DevOps or technical support can examine that overlap. Prepare a debugging example with a reproducible symptom, useful signals and a verified correction. Also show the coding or automation work you personally completed.

AI delivery still needs software foundations

Emergent’s FDE role asks for backend engineering and experience deploying AI agents. Show more than an AI demo. Explain the user problem, data flow, tests and deployed behaviour. Use a learning project honestly if that is your evidence, and make your individual contribution clear.

Some jobs require domain depth

Exa’s India role combines API integration with customer evaluations of search, RAG and agents. Prepare to explain a working integration and its success criteria. Read the specialist requirements before choosing it as a target. A relevant technical background and customer-delivery experience can matter more than familiarity with common conversational AI tools.

How should you assess location and working arrangement?

Read both the location field and the detailed description. A role may list a primary office and a secondary location. It may use “hybrid” to describe office attendance, or use the same word to describe a combination of job responsibilities. GlobalLogic’s current cloud AI listing specifies hybrid work in Noida, Bengaluru and Hyderabad; confirm the office and attendance expectations for the exact requisition.

For remote roles, confirm where the employer can hire. “India-Remote” identifies an India-based arrangement, not permission to work from any country. Ask about customer time zones, planned meetings and travel. A flexible working location can still involve a specific schedule.

For an office or hybrid role, check the attendance expectations before applying. Consider the commute or relocation and ask which office the role uses. Save the recruiter’s explanation beside the posting. This can prevent a strong technical match from becoming an unsuitable working arrangement later in the process.

Can freshers find FDE jobs in India?

The current recent listings do not include an internship. Prodigal’s AI-agent roles ask for 1–3 years of experience, Trail’s contract role asks for 2+ years, and Handshake’s Engineer I posting asks for 3+ years. Read each requirement carefully before treating a role as suitable for a fresher.

Prepare a small project that demonstrates how you work. A fictional request-import tool can validate records, report exceptions and show recovery after a failed run. Add a simple interface and tests. Explain the user, the scope and what you built yourself. This is more useful than listing a certificate without an inspectable application.

Ask how supervision works in an early-career role. Who reviews the code? What responsibility will you have in customer work? Which skills are expected on day one? Clear answers help you understand whether the role is designed to teach you through delivery or expects independence you have not yet developed.

If you do not find a suitable exact-title vacancy, consider backend, integration or implementation roles that build relevant experience. Read the actual tasks and support available. The route to FDE work can include adjacent jobs where you learn how software behaves around customer systems.

How can experienced engineers move into an FDE role?

Map your experience to the employer’s main responsibility. A backend developer may bring APIs, data modelling and release work. A data engineer may bring transformations and validation. A cloud or support engineer may bring deployment and investigation. Identify the overlap and the customer-delivery gap you need to close.

Choose two or three work examples that match the role. For a migration vacancy, lead with data correctness and recovery. For a support-heavy vacancy, lead with a production investigation and operational improvements. For a customer-facing build role, lead with an unclear requirement you turned into a working application.

Be precise about ownership. Did you design the component, implement an agreed design or lead the whole workstream? Did you communicate with users directly or through another team? Accurate context lets the hiring team assess the level of responsibility you can take.

For senior roles, prepare evidence of decisions and coordination. Show how you managed scope, reviewed technical work and handled a difficult dependency. If you coached other engineers, explain the activity and result. The examples should reflect the responsibilities in the senior vacancy rather than simply presenting a longer skills list.

Which skills appear across India-based opportunities?

Programming, data handling, APIs, tests and production delivery form a useful foundation. Customer communication helps when the role includes discovery and adoption. Specialist skills vary. AI implementation may require model integration and evaluation; operational work may require cloud, Kubernetes or observability; engineering-design work may require a different technical background.

Build a fit sheet for each vacancy. Copy a short requirement into one column, add your evidence in the next and name the gap in the third. Separate mandatory eligibility from preferred skills. This keeps you from treating every tool name as equally important.

Use the FDE skills guide for practice exercises. Select the exercise that improves your weakest important link. Completing another unrelated AI tutorial may be less useful than adding migration reconciliation or an access-control test to the project you already have.

A portfolio project for an India job application

Suppose you build a fictional order-import service for a distributor. The user uploads records, sees which rows passed validation and corrects exceptions. The service stores valid records and provides a repeatable import status. No real customer information is required to demonstrate the workflow.

Write a one-page brief describing the user, input, scope and success check. Include examples of invalid rows, a repeated identifier and a missing customer reference. Decide how the application handles an interrupted run. These constraints give the project substance beyond a simple file-upload screen.

Implement the API and database. Add authentication and a customer boundary if the exercise serves several fictional organisations. Test a valid import, invalid data, repeated submission and an unauthorised request. Show the stored result and reconciliation checks, not only the interface message.

Deploy a small version or provide a clear local demonstration. Record the environment tested. Prepare a runbook and ask another person to follow it. Fix the instructions that are unclear. The finished project provides material for coding, design, validation, debugging and handover questions.

How to adapt your resume for each India vacancy

Start with the requirement that matters most to the job. For a migration role, highlight validation and data work. For an operational role, highlight investigation and automation. For AI delivery, show a complete application with evaluation. Keep the opening clear enough that a reviewer can see the match quickly.

Use bullets that describe work you can explain. “Built a fictional order importer with field validation and interrupted-run recovery” is specific. A real employment bullet should include the actual setting and supported outcome. Avoid adding a percentage or business result unless you know how it was measured.

Label projects, internships and employment accurately. State your contribution in group work. If you used a starter template or AI assistance, be ready to explain the implementation and your changes. The interview may ask you to modify a small part, so understanding matters more than polished wording.

Check the portfolio link before submitting. Open it in a fresh browser, read the first page and run the setup if practical. A broken link or missing instructions can hide otherwise strong work. Keep the resume version and submitted project with your application record.

A practical application plan

First, build a shortlist

Choose roles that fit your location, experience and main technical evidence. Record the original vacancy URL and date checked. Read mandatory requirements before investing time in tailoring an application. Add a brief note explaining why the role fits.

Next, close one important evidence gap

If your project lacks a failure test or runbook, improve it before applying. If the role expects discovery, write and review a clear brief. Keep the change focused. You do not need to rebuild the entire portfolio every time a posting mentions a different preferred tool.

Then, prepare a specific application

Adapt the resume and write a short note connecting one relevant example to the vacancy. Answer application questions directly. Include the evidence the employer requests and use the official application route. Save a copy so you can prepare for a later interview.

Finally, practise the likely technical discussion

Prepare the project walkthrough, a debugging story and an explanation of one trade-off. Confirm the employer’s actual interview format when invited. The worked FDE interview guide can help you practise an ambiguous delivery problem.

Questions to ask about the role

  • Which stages will I own: discovery, implementation, rollout or ongoing support?
  • What will successful work look like during the first three months?
  • Which office, customer-hours and travel arrangements apply?
  • Who reviews code and architecture, and how are escalations handled?
  • What technical evidence should I prepare for the interview?
  • What is the fixed-pay band for this location and level?
  • Which compensation components are included in the offer?
  • Who operates custom integrations after the initial engagement?

These questions help you assess fit and prepare. Ask them at the appropriate stage and record the answer with the vacancy. If the employer describes responsibilities differently from the advertisement, request clarification before making a decision.

How should you use salary information?

Exa’s India listing displays USD 150,000–250,000 per year with equity. This is the employer-posted range for that specific role. Confirm the location-specific offer, fixed-pay band and compensation components with the employer. Other current listings may not disclose a numerical salary.

Compare fixed salary, variable pay, benefits, joining payments and equity separately. A headline CTC figure does not directly establish monthly take-home pay. Use the India salary guide for worked offer calculations and questions to ask.

Why rechecking vacancies matters

A cached search description can differ from a live employer board. A role may close, change its title or move to another location. During the research for this guide, some FDE search results were absent from the current employer feed. They were therefore excluded from the active examples.

Use the same approach in your own search. Save the official page, check it again before applying and update your tracker when the status changes. If the board does not list the vacancy, do not treat a third-party copy as confirmation that applications are open.

Three fictional candidates, three different shortlists

Consider a backend developer with experience in APIs and database work. They enjoy building small applications with users but have limited migration experience. Their shortlist might begin with customer-facing implementation roles whose main work fits those strengths. Before applying to a migration-heavy role, they could add mapping and reconciliation to an existing project.

Now consider a production-support engineer who investigates incidents and writes automation scripts. Their evidence may fit a deployment and support role more directly. They should show the technical depth of an investigation, the code they wrote and the verification of the correction. If they want an application-building role, they may need a stronger end-to-end software project.

A final-year student has a small AI assistant project but no employment experience. They can investigate internship requirements and improve the project’s tests, sources and documentation. They should explain the fictional use case and avoid describing it as a client deployment. An early-career role with review and supervision can be a more relevant target than an experienced posting with independent engagement ownership.

These are preparation examples rather than predicted hiring outcomes. The point is to choose a shortlist from evidence and interest. The same title does not mean all three candidates should submit the same application or practise the same next skill.

Practise an India-role interview discussion

Use a fictional migration brief: a team needs to move project records into a new platform, preserve relationships and provide an exception report. Begin by asking which records are in scope, who approves exclusions and what the destination can represent. Ask about permissions and the cutover window before selecting an implementation.

Propose a small dry run. Define field mappings, validation and reconciliation, then describe how users would review the result. Explain what happens when an attachment or relationship cannot transfer exactly. A good discussion makes the decision visible rather than hiding a limitation behind a successful import count.

Finish with rollout and handover. Who approves the main migration? How does the team handle exceptions? What does the operating team need afterward? You can practise these questions even if your portfolio uses a smaller dataset. The reasoning connects technical steps to the delivery responsibility.

Ask about learning and responsibility after joining

Before accepting a role, discuss the first workstream. Will you start by pairing with an experienced engineer, taking a defined implementation task or leading discovery? Ask which reviews happen before customer release. The answer helps you understand how the team supports the level it is hiring.

Clarify access to product and platform specialists. Customer delivery can expose a limitation that requires another team’s help. A clear escalation route matters when you need a design decision or production fix. Ask how the team captures recurring issues and turns useful work into shared tools.

Also ask how progress is assessed. The first month may focus on learning the platform and contributing to a workstream, while later expectations involve greater independence. Keep the agreed expectations with the role details. They help you judge fit before accepting and understand the work once you begin.

Track outcomes and improve the right stage

Keep the actual review date attached to each vacancy. If you return to the shortlist after several weeks, inspect the employer page before sending the application. A saved requirement can still guide learning, while an open application needs current availability. Mark those two uses separately so your preparation material does not become a misleading live-jobs list.

After an interview, note the topics you were asked to explain and the evidence you could have presented more clearly. Use that note to improve a project section or walkthrough. Keep the feedback factual and specific; a small correction can make the next conversation easier to assess.

Include one field for an unanswered question. It might be the exact office, expected customer hours or the interview format. Resolve it through the hiring process and update the tracker. Keeping questions visible helps you compare roles consistently and prevents a vague detail from becoming an assumption that influences your decision.

Keep a tracker with the employer, role type, requirements, submitted evidence and outcome. Separate application sent, recruiter response, assessment, interview and offer. A clear tracker helps you understand where preparation needs improvement without confusing every non-response with the same problem.

If you receive few responses, inspect eligibility, relevance and resume clarity. If assessments are difficult, practise the technical tasks. If interviews expose weak project explanations, improve the walkthrough and evidence. Use the observed stage to choose your next action.
